Garda Lake

Garda Lake, the most Mediterranean of the Alpine Italian lakes, is located in between the provinces of Verona, Brescia and Trento. The lake’s shore is studded of villages, small towns, Roman settlements, medieval fortresses, imposing buildings and noble villas. With its Romanesque parish churches, its Baroque-style churches and its sanctuaries, with its monasteries and hermitages, lake Garda is also an incomparable spiritual place.

Stresa, Borromean Islands and Mottarone. The Borromean Islands are a group of three small islands and two islets in the Italian part of Lago Maggiore, located in the western arm of the lake, between Verbania to the north and Stresa to the south. Their name derives from the Borromeo family, which started acquiring them in the early 16th century (Isola Madre) and still owns the majority of them (Isola Madre, Bella, San Giovanni) today.Stresa, Borromean Islands and Mottarone.
