SOMMELIER EXPERIENCE IN VERONA, IN THE HEART OF VALPOLICELLA

To copy the truth can be a good thing, but to invent the truth is better, much better. – Giuseppe Verdi

Italy not only has the most interesting and some of the oldest cities you’ll ever see, but also the best wine and food in the world. The wine is produced in every region of Italy, home to some of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world and Italy is the world’s largest producer of wine with almost 20% of global production. Veneto is Italy’s most productive wine-growing region.
Within the most incredible valley of many cellars: Valpolicella, with its famous wines, especially Amarone DOCG, the territory is less known despite a beautiful landscape of gentle hills.
There’s no need to be a wine lover to enjoy our private 3-hour Sommelier experience takes place in Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, on the southern border of the Valpolicella wine area. The professional Sommelier will guide you to experience in an authentic way the passion for the wine, ensuring that this experience has the right balance of culture, values and traditions of the Veneto region. This experience starts with a walk on the lesser-known streets of the city, passing by the Arena and through the district that was once dedicated to wool processing, and continues with the stop by the historic Osterias and Botteghe of Verona which are a must stop that reveal the city’s past and traditions. Osterias are still today a point of reference for anyone wishing to get away from the more tourist routes and savour the taste of tradition. Stop for the first wine tasting, pairing with local salami and cheeses while the sommelier will explain and tale the characteristics of the wines, its territory of origin and the pairing with local cuisine. A second stop at one of the oldest places dedicated to wine and the unique flavours of this land to enjoy a second tasting, dedicated to the most renowned wine of Valpolicella: Amarone! The glass of Amarone will be paired with some cicchetti. You will enjoy the unique flair of the Osteria and, if you are lucky, meet the local elders drinking, joking and singing. An authentic experience that is more than just wine!
